Private to the world. Transparent to your accountant.

Payslip pays your contractors in shielded Zcash. Anyone can see that a payment happened. Only the viewing keys you hand out show who was paid, how much and for what.

One payment, two copies: the pay advice Amara Okafor's viewing key reads, and what the Zcash explorer shows.

The public copy of the same payment. Zcash shows that a shielded transaction happened, in which block and when. Everything else stays inked out unless you hold a viewing key.

Open the transaction on any Zcash explorer: you get the yellow copy. Hand Amara her key: she gets the white one.

Who sees what

One payroll, three kinds of key. Every contractor is paid from an account of their own, so what each person can read is set by the keys they hold.
  • The company

    $30,375.50

Paid 6 contractors for Sep 2026 in one run, and sees every run, line and fee.

Holds the spending key to every account. It never leaves the company's own server.

  • The contractor

    $4,800.00

Amara Okafor's Sep 2026 pay. She reads her own payslips and nobody else's.

Holds the viewing key to her own account, uvftest1wl9rx9cj…eshul4j4.

  • The accountant

    $2,126.26

Funded minus paid on the Sep 2026 run, explained to within a cent by network fees and unspent coin.

Holds the viewing keys to all 7 accounts. None of them can spend.

How a payroll run works

Four steps, each one on chain. The figures are the sample company's Sep 2026 run.
  1. Step 1: Fund

Enter each person's pay in dollars. Fund the run with ZEC from your own wallet, or in USDC through NEAR Intents; the rate at funding becomes the dollar basis for every line.

    Funded
    $32,501.76
    Received
    0.02407538 TAZ

A fixed simulated rate stands in for NEAR Intents on testnet.

  2. Step 2: Allocate

One shielded transaction from the treasury fills each contractor's own payroll account with their pay and its network fee.

    Block
    4,466,910

6 contractor accounts filled at once.

  3. Step 3: Pay

Each payroll account sends one shielded payment to its contractor. The encrypted memo carries the period, the invoice and the dollar amount.

    PS1|09019bd8-d31d-400b-a779-050afeb3083e|2026-09|INV-2026-014|480000|1350000000000

Amara Okafor's memo as her key decrypts it. 6 payments in block 4,466,912.

  4. Step 4: Read back

Viewing keys read the payments back from the chain: a payslip for each contractor, and for your accountant a reconciliation of funded against paid.

    Paid
    $30,375.50
    Variance
    $2,126.26
    Fees and unspent
    $2,126.25

One cent of rounding across six lines.

Every payment, open to check

The sample company's three payrolls: 18 shielded payments and 3 allocations, paid on Zcash testnet on 5 Oct 2026. Names and amounts come from the viewing keys; the explorer shows each transaction and its block, and nothing else.

Per active contractor per month. Every payment is shielded.

Deel and Rise

$49

Per contractor per month for contractor payroll. Paid in crypto through either, every salary is public on chain.

The judge kit is the sample company's 7 testnet viewing keys: the treasury's and one for each of the 6 contractors. They read the July, August and September payrolls and cannot spend.
